Welcome to 2nd Grade

Welcome to our 2nd grade site. We welcome back Mrs. Bliss, Miss Crane, Mrs. Demers and Mrs. Godbout. To view notes or messages from a specific classroom, simply click on a teacher's name.

Our goal for 2nd graders is to provide a safe and nurturing environment whereby each student may actualize their potential and celebrate their successes.

Each of the classrooms uses the following curricula:

Reading: Tufts University Learn to Read by Reading Program
Writing: Tufts University Learn to Write by Writing Program
Math: Everyday Math
Handwriting: Handwriting Without Tears
Vocabulary Development: Wordly Wise
Phonics: Tufts Program/Project Read
Social Skills: Curriculum developed by Epping Elementary School Social Skills Committee

We have three great field trips planned for this year. The first will be in the fall with a trip to Swam Lake Nature Center. The second is in late winter to the Sea Aquarium in Boston. The third, at the end of the school year, is to the Seacoast Science Center. Each of these locations allows the students to have a first hand experience with the wonders of nature.

We will also have two guests coming into our classrooms. Mary Doane will bring in her turtles to share her knowledge of the importance of taking care of nature, while keeping them in their native habitat.

Our second in school guest will be from PSNH. She too will share her knowledge of the world around us: the world of Electricity!
