COMMUNICATION
Communication is of the utmost importance. Each school leader and School Board member is expected to communicate school values, goals, and specific actions that will be taken and have been taken to meet the Epping School District mission. Each staff member will communicate specific actions that will be taken and have been taken to enable students to demonstrate their highest potential. We hope that this website will help to communicate how we together are meeting this goal.
Communication Plan - The Epping School District Communication Plan was developed to help guide the District in increasing school/district visibility, enhancing communication, and encouraging public involvement. Please reference the plan to see the various different ways in which the District and schools communicate.
Communication Projects - This school year the District will continue to upgrade the website and offer more educational programming on ETV. Both of these projects will take significant work and the plan is to gradually add more and more with each school year. We appreciate your patience.
Parent/Community Workshop Series (New) - This school year the District hopes to offer a series of workshops for parents and community members. We believe that it is important to communicate why and how education is changing. Your role as parents and community members also continues to change. We are open to ideas. Please email pvangundy@sau14.org with "workshop series" in the email subject line.
Feedback - We encourage you to communicate directly to the school and/or district office what we're doing right and what not. This applies to the School Board as well. Your feedback will let us know what we need to keep doing and what we need to improve upon.
Go Green! - Communication can be expensive with paper and printing costs. The District is "going green" with electronic communication. This website has been upgraded to be more user friendly and increase access to information with the intent of reducing paper and printing costs. District staff handbooks and newsletters are also distributed electronically saving time and money.
This school year the District is piloting the electronic distribution of the "Annual Parent Notice of Rights and Policies." If you have received school communications via email, you will most likely receive this District Handbook electronically. We request that you sign and return the acknowledgement page (page 1) included in the new school year packet. If you do not have email, the District will provide you with a paper copy.
Epping Elementary School, Epping Middle School, and Epping High School have also "gone green" with school e-newsletters. Please provide your school with an email address in order to receive timely information electronically and save resources. To all our parents who have already helped and continue to help with this initiative, thank you!
