POLICY I INSTRUCTION - The School Board has approved the last section of Policy I on instructional time, materials, libraries, credit, grading, homework, reporting valedictorian and salutatorian, advanced placement and retention, curricular programs, assessment, high school competency assessments, student surveys, school staff teaching their own children, physical activity, distance education, and controversial speakers and programs. SCHOOL & DISTRICT AFFILIATED ORGANIZATIONS - Raising and expending funds in affiliation with the school district has associated legal and financial obligations for the school, district, and organization. To insure a successful partnership Policy KCC defines responsibilities, permissions, and protections.

NEW MATH PROGRAM - The District has adopted Math In Focus Singapore Math Curriculum by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Click here for the Math In Focus website. The District Math Committee selected MIF for the following reasons. This school year the District will implement MIF in grades K to 6 with grades 7 & 8 to follow.

STATE RETIREMENT - Changes in the NH Retirement System have impacted the 2011-2012 School Budget. District retirement rates have increased. State retirement contribution has been eliminated. Employee contributions have increased from 5 to 7%. Click here for more information on how the retirement changes are impacting the District.
INDOOR AIR QUALITY - District adopts indoor air quality policy to protect the health and well being of our students, staff, and school community. Indoor air quality has been reported to be impacted by motorized vehicles, toxic chemicals, certain items brought in from home, and animals in school. Click here for more information.
TEACHER EVALUATION - District has revised the Teacher Evaluation System to address state and national efforts on improving teacher effectiveness and state changes in tenure law, align all schools, and provide teachers with common guidelines per the District Curriculum-Instruction-Assessment Frameworks, District Teacher Job Description, and School Board Policy.
