Epping School District

Superintendent's Farewell

It has been an honor to serve the Epping community as your Superintendent for the past five years. Epping is a wonderful community with delightful children, highly talented and dedicated professional educators and support staff, and caring families.  It is a gem of the larger Seacoast area.

June brings an end to my tenure as a public educator and leader. A journey that started in 1983. I am proud of the accomplishments of the Epping School District in the last five years. And, I am pleased to pass the torch to Bill Furbush.

Bill comes to Epping with experience as an Assistant Superintendent in Exeter and a Superintendent in Pelham. He has knowledge of Competency-Based Education and will support the work that is being done in Epping related to CBE; specifically, next steps related to Relearning and Reassessment in a CBE environment and how to best meet the needs of all learners in a CBE environment. Additional areas of focus will include a focus on the return of students to school following a Pandemic, Social-Emotional Learning, and Suicide Awareness training for staff.

On behalf of the Epping School District, I welcome Superintendent Furbush to the Epping family and wish all members of the Epping community the best in their future endeavors.

Respectfully,

Valerie McKenney
